Workshop fees – Full day with Guest Speaker – $35; Guild Teacher – $25; Half Day $15; Fees are due at sign-up.

Please bring your own iron to workshops. All workshops will take place at Glad Tidings Pentacostal Church, 160 Wayside Drive, Perth unless otherwise noted.

Workshops for Fall/Spring 2017-8

Valerie Miller will be our guest for our November 28, 2017 General Meeting, doing a wonderful trunk show and a workshop the next day.  Valerie is from Renfrew and creates graphic quilts employing traditional techniques and modern style.  Her quilts have been featured at Quilt Market in Houston and Quilt Con in Pasedena.  Come and see her trunk show, and we still have space in her workshop to learn her curves technique and create a modern and sophisticated table runner.  Leave a message on our Facebook page or email us if you are interested in taking the workshop and I will forward your request to Program.    http://www.valeriemillerquiltedcovers.com

 

Cathy Price is offering two dates for her workshop “Log Cabin Pillow with Button Closure”.  The two dates are Saturday, January 20, 2018 and Wednesday, January 24.

 

Bridget O’Flaherty is offering two dates for her workshop “Landscape Thread Painting by Numbers”.  The two dates are Saturday, February 24, and Wednesday, February 27, 2018.  Don’t forget to sign up.

 

On March 27, 2018, we will welcome Elizabeth (Libs) Elliott to our Guild for a Trunk Show and a Workshop the next day.  Libs is from Toronto and is a textile artist and designer that uses technology and traditional methods to build her handmade quilts. She also designs fabric collections for Andover Fabrics.  She will be teaching a one day workshop on March 28th, and if you would like to join the class, please send a message on our Facebook page or an email to lanarkquilters@hotmail.com and I will forward your request to Program.     http://www.libselliott.com

 

Lenore Crawford will coming to our Guild in June 2018 for a Trunk Show and a two-day workshop, offered on June 27 and 28.  Lenore combines her love of France, French architecture, flower gardens, along with her passion for colour and realism.  She has won numerous prizes for her art and continues to grow her medium and style in new and beautiful ways. Workshops for Spring 2017

June 6 & 20, 2017 Bethany Garner of Kingston Fibre Artists is running 2 one-day workshops. Day 1, “Dying to Quilt” –  you will learn to dye using Proxion MX dyes and create 24 pieces (up to 6 yards) of gorgeous multi-coloured 100% cotton fabrics. November 2016 Workshop

Zoe Lianga will be doing a Trunk Show and Workshop.  She is a local fibre artist.  I have seen some of her stunning wet-felted quilts.  She offers lots of workshops in her home year round, and we are lucky to be getting her for a 3-hour workshop where she will show us how to make mittens.  It may seem to be a fairly simple item, but it is only a starting point to so many bigger items once the method is learned.
