Our new Block of the Month has started, and we will be getting 12″ blocks. Our first one is a 3D Pinwheel Block. Looks like fun. C
Welcome back to a brand new year! This year will be an assortment of 12″ blocks. Looking forward to seeing what everyone does with them. First up is a Rail Fence. Lots more to come. All pictures of the blocks every month are posted on the Facebook page. C.
Welcome Everyone to a New Year! Heather is presenting this year’s Block of the Month, which will be a series of 12 and a half inch blocks, using different techniques. You may choose to co-ordinate your fabrics and make a Sampler Quilt, or smaller wall hangings, or a table runner. First up are half square triangles. I wonder what will be next? C
WELCOME EVERYONE: This year we will be doing a “row quilt”, one row per month. It may look overwhelming, but it will be easy piecing and you will be happy to know that there is no paper-piecing in this quilt. Looking forward to you signing up and enjoying this new quilt.
Cathy advised that over 50 people have signed up for the block of the month.
It will be a sampler quilt showing different techniques each month so that at the end of the year you will have created a quilt using a section called “French Braid”, a Paper-pieced block, a Lone Starburst and Mariner’s Compass with Flying Geese, and a Painted block.
Some of the blocks are very easy and others a little more challenging.
Do check out our facebook page to see photos of the participants progress.
Hope everyone has fun making these and seeing the final results.
